I first became interested in SMUD while a student at U.C. Davis researching SMUD's Upper American River Project, which is a network of hydroelectric dams that runs along Hwy 50 through the Sierra Nevada. Out of university, I worked at the California Energy Commission's Renewable Energy Office with a focus on solar and wind power.
Today, I work on the cutting edge of heavy-duty vehicle electrification and grid-integration policy using my renewable energy background - expertise I bring to SMUD everyday.
Prior to joining the SMUD Board in 2017, I served as an elected Board Member of the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District for more than 8 years, including 2 years as Chair. I was also elected as the Special District Representative to the Sacramento County Treasury Oversight Committee and proudly chaired the Committee from 2014 to 2018.
In addition, I am a current member of the Sacramento Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), Special District Advisory Committee. I also volunteer for the Environmental Council of Sacramento, a large advocacy coalition nonprofit, and am an executive board member and Past President.
I am a life long resident of the District and attended public schools in Orangevale and Fair Oaks - providing me an in-depth knowledge and connection to the region. My early work experience was with the Sunrise Recreation & Park District in Citrus Heights as a lifeguard, swim instructor and facilities manager, which taught me the core values of hard work and the importance of Community.
As your representative, I work hard to ensure SMUD always represents our values and provides the best customer service.
